Design Engineer – FreeCAD Expert (Remote, $40‑$80/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Design Engineer with deep expertise in FreeCAD to create objective, assessment‑ready question‑and‑answer sets for complex multi‑part CAD assemblies. The work is fully remote and contract‑based, offering flexible hours between 10 and 40 per week.

Key responsibilities

• Author precise, non‑guessable Q&A sets based on multi‑part CAD assemblies.
• Analyze complex mechanical designs to craft technical questions focused on geometry and assembly relationships.
• Ensure each question has an exact, verifiable answer requiring domain expertise.
• Deliver high‑quality written content with clear technical accuracy.
• Collaborate asynchronously to clarify requirements, review feedback, and iterate on deliverables.
• Document insights or ambiguities encountered during authoring.

Required profile

• Extensive background in mechanical, aerospace engineering or industrial design with strong CAD knowledge.
• Significant experience with multi‑part assemblies and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with FreeCAD or comparable CAD platforms.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in written form.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing objective, assessment‑ready content.
