Chemical Safety Specialist – Remote Contract (up to $90/hr)

About the role

We are seeking a Chemical Safety Specialist to provide expert analysis and guidance on chemical safety, toxicology, and hazardous‑substance scenarios. This remote contract position supports AI training and model validation efforts with a focus on non‑proliferation and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate data related to chemical safety, toxicological risk, precursor chemicals, and hazardous‑substance scenarios.
• Review, annotate, and provide critical feedback on documents, datasets, and model outputs concerning chemical weapons and toxicology.
• Contribute expert perspectives on non‑proliferation standards, regulatory protocols, and safety operations for chemical handling.
• Develop and refine guidelines for assessing chemical and toxicological hazards in realistic and hypothetical situations.
• Interpret and explain implications of chemical interactions, exposure risks, and toxicity profiles for AI training purposes.
• Collaborate remotely with project coordinators, offering written and verbal clarifications as needed.
• Identify gaps or inaccuracies in content or model assessments related to chemical safety and toxicology.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD, MD, JD, PsyD, or relevant master’s) in chemistry, toxicology, industrial hygiene, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum experience in chemical weapons non‑proliferation, hazardous materials handling, toxicological risk assessment, or chemical safety protocols.
• Background as an independent consultant, policy advisor, response specialist, or safety officer in industry, government, or research settings.
• Expertise in controlled substances, precursor risk evaluation, or non‑proliferation regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical information effectively in written and verbal formats.
